· How has Okonkwo been a figure of inspiration and disappointment to his people?
He has been a figure of an inspiration as he is one of the youngest warriors in his village. At such a young age he is known to have such courage in fighting. He defeats one of the fiercest opponents ever in his lifetime ( beating Amalinze the Cat in a wrestling contest. ) Because of that, Okonkwo is chosen to represent his clan to visit the neighbouring village to solve the case of a murdered wife. In chapter one, he have taken five humans head and even drink palm-wine from the first head he slayed.
Apart from that ,Okonkwo is seen to be an inspiring character probably because of his marriage statues. He has three wives and each wife has given him at least a child, it means he married some of a very healthy wife. Although his second wife did undergone nine case of miscarriage, but he is thought to be a lucky man because his second wife run away from her first husband just to be with him.
He started to be seen as a disappointment after he killed Ikemefuna. The first person to be seeing him as a disappointment is Nwoye, his own son. He beat his youngest wife Ojiugo during the Week of peace. He did receive his punishment and completed it according to the wish of the priestess. Unfortunately, the villagers started to look down on him when they compare the punishment between their times now and their times then. The punishment was thought to be ease upon Okonkwo crimes for the fact that he was a famous warrior. His sons continues to feel disappointed with him for killing Ikemefuna ,plus his father never show mercy when he is with him that is why he thought that his father never loved him.

Our nation’s leader is 50% can’t ever be like Okonkwo. But both of them have only one similarity. That is, there are two different kind of people judging both of them,one kind of people will always going to support him but others will always try to look for the flaws.
